Can we bill 94664 for patients who are already using devices to administer treatments at home?
Code 94664 should not be billed for patients who routinely use the device that is being provided for treatment or if a caregiver is already providing those treatments, because then it is not considered medically necessary. However, if the documentation in the medical record supports that the patient has demonstrated poor technique in using the device, then billing for 94664 would be appropriate.
