Question:

If the physician performs both intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and fractional flow reserve (FFR) in the same vessel at the same encounter, can we charge for both?

Answer:

You cannot report IVUS for the FFR Doppler transducer placement and maneuvering in the artery, but if a separate IVUS is performed before or after the FFR, both may be reported.
